Basketball Shooting Tips
I received these suggestions on basketball shooting tips from Jim and Greg in Syracuse NY.
From Jim…
This is a great conditioning drill and simulates game like conditions for free throw shooting.
Divide your team into groups of three. First player shoots 2 free throws, the 2nd player rebounds, while the 3rd player runs a lap around the gym. By the time the 2 free throws are shot, the player who was running becomes the shooter. The shooter] becomes the rebounder and the rebounder becomes the runner.
Run this basketball drill for about 10 minutes each practice and I guarantee your players will be better conditioned and better free throw shooters.
From Greg…
My drill of choice for my 10 year olds is a weak hand only ]scrimmage, holding one hand behind their back while dribbling and playing “D” using only their off hand, for ball and body control, plus some fun.
