Purpose

This is a good basketball conditioning drill that focuses on total body strength, especially on your core.

Slams and Figure 8s Basketball Cinditioning Drill

How it Works

  1. Slams – reach up over your body and slam the medicine ball down to the ground with force.
  2. Figure 8s – bring the ball back from your hip, then overhead and slam it down.
  3. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise.

Coaching Tips

  • Use your core to explode in these drills.
  • Be careful that you don’t slam the ball where it will come up and hit you in the face.
