Slams and Figure 8s

Purpose

This is a good basketball conditioning drill that focuses on total body strength, especially on your core.

How It Works

1.  Slams – reach up over your body and slam the medicine ball down to the ground with force.

2.  Figure 8s – bring the ball back from your hip, then overhead and slam it down.

3.  Perform 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise.

Coaching Tips

Use your core to explode in these drills.

Be careful that you don’t slam the ball where it will come up and hit you in the face.
