In today’s video blog post, we are featuring a fantastic transition offense drill called “The Hockey Drill”. This is a 3-on-3 Full Court Transition Offense drill, and it’s purpose is to get your players who get the defensive rebounds, get the steals or get the outlet passes more comfortable with handling the ball and advancing the ball up the court.
Transition Offense: The Hockey Drill
In this particular transition offense drill, you can’t pass the ball until you cross the half-court line. This allows your players to also work on using their bodies to protect the ball. This where you really learn to advance the ball.
Transition Offense Tips!
- If you have the chance to throw ahead to a wing to make a play, be sure to do that.
- If the defense is guarding the wings, then the wings should cross.
