In today’s video blog post, I am showing you some examples of the “Offensive Wedging” rebounding drill, which will allow your players to gain position and give them a better opportunity for an offensive rebound.
Offensive Wedging Rebounding Drill
We have talked previously about rebounding, and about the importance of blocking out. We also like to use this technique on offense. Some people like to call it “wedgingâ€, others call it “screen to rebound†– maybe even “cross wedgingâ€. But we want to make sure that on offense, our players – if given the opportunity – gain inside position and make sure that they are blocking out as well.
One of the keys, no matter your size and ability – tall, small, quick or slow – is that position and intellect can make the difference in rebounding more than anything!
