I sent out a request for my newsletter subscribers to send in their favorite [tag]ballhandling drills for basketball[/tag]. Check out this one below (very creative!).
Here’s a [tag]basketball drill[/tag] called “take the pick and shoot” drill, I guess you could call it.
You have 3 lines, one being in between halfcourt and the 3-point line, one being behind the baseline, and one being behind the out of bounds line on the side of the court you want to shoot from.
The players on the line behind the baseline will all have [tag]basketball[/tag]s. The ones behind the 3-point line will make an L-cut (or V-cut), and will receive the ball from the person on the baseline, who will run out to defend the pass receiver.
As soon as the pass is made, the person on the out of bounds line will set a screen on the defender, and the person with the ball will take a dribble with the screen and will take a shot. They will get their own rebound and head to the baseline, while the defender will head to the “screen” line out of bounds, and the screener will head to the “shooting” line behind the 3-point line.
