This is one of the [tag]basketball dribbling tips[/tag] that Brad, one of my readers, sent to me. Try this out with your team tonight!
From Brad…
52 Pick-Up – [tag]basketball[/tag] [tag]dribbling[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag]
Bring enough tennis balls and basketballs for everyone. Every player stands on one end of the gym with a tennis ball in one hand and [tag]dribbles[/tag] with the other.
On the whistle, throw the tennis ball to the other end of the gym, keep dribbling.
On the next whistle, [tag]dribble[/tag] to the other end, pick up a ball (while still dribbling) and return. (teaches [tag]ball[/tag] control and movement)
Up the ante for older players by continuing to run the drill but each time the [tag]coach[/tag] removes one of the tennis balls. That way the players need to be fast and aggressive to get down, pick up a tennis ball, and get back.
Keep removing tennis balls one by one until one player is champion.
