Special thanks to Willard for sending this in. If you’re searching for [tag]basketball drills for elementary kids[/tag], you should try this out!
I coach the “litte guys” – ages 7-8. One of our favorite [tag]basketball drills[/tag] to teach aggression, dribbling and individual defense is to have two lines of kids on the baseline.
I have one kid from each line step up into the court.
I then shoot the [tag]basketball[/tag] (and they have to fight for the rebound), or I roll the ball somewhere onto the court and again they have to try to get it.
Whoever gets the ball, tries to dribble it full court and attempt to make a basket (like a layup, etc). Whoever doesn’t get the ball, has to run down and try to prevent the ball from scoring and work on his footwork and defense skills.
This [tag]basketball drill[/tag] simulates play in our league and helps all the kids to improve their dribbling and defense.
