I received this suggestion on [tag]basketball foul shooting[/tag] from Bill in Syracuse NY. It’s an idea that has livened things up quite a bit in my practices.Basketball Foul Shooting

From Bill…
We call this [tag]basketball drill[/tag] “Around the World”.

It is a foul [tag]basketball shooting drill[/tag] I use once a week at practice.  There are [tag]basketball[/tag]s at every foul line of the gym.  6 baskets is good but the more the better.

The object is to get “around the world” three times.  The first three win and the others do a sprint.  If you make a foul shot, you rotate clockwise until you get around three times.  If you miss the foul shot, you go to the back of the line.

The drill simulates the pressure of a game situation, especially if a basket gets backed up with a long line of players.  I talk about “your routine” and it is not the number of shots taken, but the quality of your shot.
