This is one of the [tag]basketball offensive plays[/tag] that one of my subscribers sent to me last fall. Try this out with your team tonight!
From Richard…
Here’s a [tag]basketball play[/tag] that a friend of mine uses against teams that employ a very aggressive full court press.
Basically he has all four players line up on the half court line after the opposition score. This confuses the opponents looking for the full court press. If the defending team lines up with his players, he has players 1 & 4 on the half court screen the defenders for players 2 & 3 who sprint around the screen and up the wings. The guy inbounding the [tag]basketball[/tag] from the baseline inbounds it to one of these players and it’s usually an easy lay-up.
This move has many options, depending on how the defense reacts to the set-up. The funniest part of THE MOVE is the name – he uses the name of the team defending to initiate the move. So if you’re playing the Wildcats, the name of this move is “Wildcats” but if you’re playing the Lakers, then the name is “Lakers”. Usually it only gets used once or twice the first time you play a team before they learn.
