I’ve gotten a whole bunch of requests for drills that work on [tag]basketball shooting accuracy[/tag] over the past few days. Here are a couple of [tag]basketball[/tag] [tag]drills[/tag] that two of my readers sent to me. Give these a try!
From Patrick…
I have a [tag]drill[/tag] that’s fun but also great for [tag]shooters[/tag]. It may sound unusual but as a student [tag]coach[/tag] it works wonders.
The drill:
Players pair up. (pair on pair competition)
starting at the half way line, players must leap frog their partner continuously until the base/three point line, where one partner will shoot the three. Each player will have the chance of shooting. Repeat until all outside shooters have finished.
The idea of this exercise is to get the players use to [tag]shooting[/tag] consistently with the effect of fatigue in their legs.
From Cassie…
The most used [tag]training[/tag] drill (under 14 women division 2) for shooting is called Panther Shooting.
There are 3 lines on the [tag]free throw[/tag] line.
Each line has one ball. Give the team a time limit and a target. The team needs to shoot the ball; if it goes in its one point. They pass back to that line and move to the next line.
I started this 5 weeks ago and started off with 3 minutes and a target of 20, we are now up to 35 in 3 minutes and its starting to show in a game!!!!!
