Coming up with new ideas for [tag]basketball skill drills[/tag] can sometimes be a challenge.  Here’s one that was sent to me recently-very effective!Basketball Skill Drills

This [tag]basketball drill[/tag] is called FETCH or you can call it what ever suits you.  It is a“  drill that I have my high school girls do goes like this.

There are two lines (of players) under the [tag]basketball[/tag] net; the coach is in the middle of the two lines with a ball.

The [tag]basketball coach[/tag] rolls the ball down the center of the court and the two players at the head of each line fight for position and the ball. The player that ends up with the ball takes it the remaining length of the court for a lay-up. The player that didn’t get the ball plays defense. The process begins over again.

What I like to do to bring out the best in the girls is roll it fast if your looking for sprints or bounce it if your looking for jumping (rebounding).  You can switch this up and have two players from each line come out and you would have a two on two or three players for a three on three or two on one for a fast break situation.
