Try these [tag]basketball training tips[/tag] with your [tag]basketball[/tag] team. You’ll find that they pick up the new plays quicker and execution is improved!
When we are introducing a new offensive [tag]basketball play[/tag] or concept, only the offense is on the court initially. Then, the first time we add a defense, we have the defensive players defend with their feet and bodies, ONLY.
Defensive players hands are kept behind their backs, until the shot hits the rim, then the team getting the rebound goes on offense. This interim step allows the offense to execute and gain confidence in the new play, before facing an aggressive defense.
A side benefit is that defenders learn the importance of playing defense by moving their feet to stay in proper defensive position.
