One of the areas that coaches can always use new drills is [tag]basketball zone offense[/tag]. Read below for a great suggestion from Michelle on this topic.
From Michelle…
Here is a [tag]basketball[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag] I came up with a few weeks ago. We had been playing a triangle [tag]zone[/tag] with the tip of the triangle being in the arch at the top of the key with the 3, 4 and 5 at the low post area forming a triangle and 1 and 2 playing out on the perimeter. It was out of a book hopefully you get the idea.
It was not working, so I flipped the triangle to place 3 and 4 up past the hi posts area and the tip of the triangle behind the 5 playing under the basket and side to side. I then gave my 1 and 2 the inner and outer wings and had them play man to man, on the“ ball.
It worked great! I like the combo of zone and man to man especially if you have fast agressive guards. Hope you can straighten it out and use it.
