When [tag]coaching youth basketball[/tag], especially ages between 8 and 9 yrs old and 10 and 11 years old,“  you cannot have them practice enough.  I prepare “Practice Drill sheets” that contain 4 to 5 different [tag]basketball drills[/tag] that I ask the kids to do every day.

For example–[tag]double ball dribble[/tag], [tag]lay-ups[/tag], passes, etc.  If the child brings in his/her drill sheet to basketball practice where I can see they have checked off the daily [tag]basketball drill[/tag] I give them a prize, a [tag]basketball[/tag] card or something.

The kids like this system as it reinforces what we are doing at practice but it motivates them to work on their skills everyday.  Since at these age groups kids have different skill levels these drill sheets allow you to work with your team members on an individual basis.  This system has been worked well.
