One of my readers actually suggested this idea for a [tag]basketball[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag] that he uses to improve his team’s [tag]college basketball skills[/tag]. I’ve included it for you below.
From Jon…
I love the 3 on 2 with a chaser.
You have a team on each side of the court around half court.
The [tag]offensive[/tag] team does a normal 3 on 2 starting offensively from right behind half court line for the start of the drill. Once the ball crosses half court line, the next guy that is in the [tag]defensive[/tag] team’s line goes out touches middle of half court and gets on defense- the [tag]defense[/tag] must talk to see who guards who and it forces the offense to get a good quick shot.
When one of the [tag]defenders[/tag] get the ball, the what is now three defenders go and try to score on the opposite hoop, now with the other team having two defenders to start with the 3rd running out and touching middle of half court when the ball crosses half court.
As the offensive team crosses half court, that same team needs to get 2 people on defense so when the other team [tag]rebounds[/tag] on the other end they are ready for the ball to come.
