Michael in Springfield emailed me looking for fresh ideas for [tag]free girls basketball drills[/tag]. Here’s a [tag]basketball drill[/tag] that one of my subscribers sent recently.
From Clint…
I coach a 10 and under AAU girls team. One of our teams favorite [tag]basketball drills[/tag] is a [tag]foul shot basketball drill[/tag] we call —Deal or No Deal.
We line up at the foul line and shoot foul shots after agreeing to a set number of shots they have to make. If they make the agreed to “deal no deal” amount of shots I run a lap. If they make less, the team runs that amount of laps and if they make more that the agreed to amount I run that amount of laps.
For example.
We agreed to 7 with a deal/no deal dialogue and they make 9, I run 3 laps. If they only make 5. They run 2 laps. In addition they have to rebound hard on the second shot if they don’t or they commit a lane violation I add one to the agreed to amount of shots.
I’ve been using this [tag]basketball[/tag] drill for the past 6 or so practices and our percentage has increased by 10% with no lane violations and they always go for the rebound with out me reminding them. And most of all the girls love the drill.
