Take a look at this submission from Carrie. A great example of [tag]how to improve your basketball skills[/tag] that can work with all age groups.
From Carrie…
I have a [tag]basketball[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag] that I picked up at a [tag]coaching[/tag] clinic from Ohio State Women’s Basketball coach Jim Foster.
The main goal is to show your players that they can play [tag]defense[/tag] without using their hands. There are a couple of ways to do this.
We use a rope that is just long enough that it can go around a players waist and they can hold it with both hands in good defensive position. We then do various [tag]drills[/tag] including a [tag]box out drill[/tag]. The improvement has been dramatic.
Players must use their feet in order to get good position and then check out. This also works when we do zig-zag dribble. You can also use a towel instead of rope.
