Coming up with new ideas for [tag]youth basketball offense[/tag] [tag]drills[/tag] can sometimes be a challenge.  Here are a couple of ideas sent in from Michael and Leon that work well.Youth Basketball Offense

From Michael…

My [tag]basketball[/tag] practice tip is this. I had problems with movement. To get the kids moving I have them run around the court playing follow the leader (whoever has the ball).

He goes to center court and dribbles to the basket, throws the ball off the backboard and the rest follow each trying to tip the ball off the back board.  The last person makes a [tag]layup[/tag] and then passes the ball. “ After each kid performs the tip they get into line.  I use“ three lines and the center line gets the pass from the layup and then they start a three man weave.

It has really improved the movement of my team and the “standing around” is almost null.

From Leon…

I have an inbounds play versus a man to man defense.

Set up in 4 across by endline, 2 on the box 2 on the outside.

Middle two go out and pick and seal on the outside players and then seal and go toward the basket.  One of the 2 is always open.

I dont see too many 1 – 4 inbounds plays.  The kids love it!
