Here’s one of the youth basketball plays that I use with my 5th graders that works a lot. We use this basketball play after the other team scores and it only works if the other team is doing man to man.
#2 throws the basketball into #1.
The rest of the team runs real fast and stays as far to the outside as they can.
#2 runs down the sideline as far out as they can and cuts in to the net and #1 does a bounce pass.
#2 has an easy layup.
The idea is to keep everyone else far to the outside so there is run for the pass.
Another plus to this is, if it works a few times, someone on defense will come off their man to try and cut off the pass. When they do that, someone is wide open!
