Rodney and Randy sent these [tag]basketball[/tag] [tag]drills[/tag] to me.  A great example of [tag]youth basketball skills[/tag] that don’t require a coaching PhD to figure out.Youth Basketball Skills

From Rodney…

I base this play on the defense playing a 2-3 Zone which I see a lot of in the 12-14 girls church league.

I let my girls come up with the plays, as well.  At each practice I let them tell me how to execute the play so that I can see who really knows the plays or drills.

We call this the ICE play for offense.  We stand in a 1-3-1 arrangement.  My 3 girls set screens for my 1 at the top of the key.  When the 1 girl breaks to one side or the other, the girl opposite the direction to which the 1 girl breaks, will then break for the basket for a quick jump shot.

From Randy…

-Three Man Rush-
“
Start like a 3 man weave but pass goes to the right, then back to the middle then to the player cutting for the layup…Then turn around and mirror it back down the court.
“
Coaches like this because it emphasizes the “no dribble” fast-break. Kids like it because they have to work together and be on the same page. The player who gets the layup really has to hustle down the court.  It teaches no slacking on this [tag]drill[/tag]!
