These are basketball passing drills that stress protecting the ball and defense close outs. If you are a trapping team this is a good drill on how to trap.

We were having trouble getting our team focused and energized early in Monday practices. So, we came up with these basketball coaching drills. They incorporate conditioning, ball handling and staying focused on the task at hand as well as offense and defense fundamentals.
Here is one of our favorite basketball practice drills. I do with my 1st and 2nd graders as well with my 6th and 7th graders. I call it Basketball Take Away.
In this video, you'll learn the 3 Man Passing Drill, the Raytown drill, and the 3 Man Break. All 3 of these drills for basketball are simple to run in
Here are two basketball conditioning drills that we like to use frequently. The players like the competitiveness of these and they definitely keep practice at a fast pace.
Of all the youth basketball drills I know, the drill I find young kids enjoy most is fairly basic. When I find if I'm losing their attention this is a good one to bring them back.
This is one of the basketball shooting drills that we use to help improve three point shooting - usually about 5 minutes AND it is good for conditioning as well. It is called Marshall shooting.
By the time the season starts I will have my basketball practice plans planned out with the exact drill and game plan focus for the first 4 weeks of the season. This jump starts our season into high gear.
While coaching youth basketball, to get one of my younger teams to use their feet in defense, it was arranged for them to go mountain climbing (i.e. ropes etc). I find that using other sports to break the monotony of drills works well with younger players.
I believe that the most important drills to use are ones that translate into your game plan and that must be a plan that fits the talents and skill level of your team. These are two basketball drills and plays that I have developed myself for my current team.
One of the basketball fun drills I do is one I do after basketball practice. These are optional and the players can leave if they want but I am finding them all stay to give it a shot.
This is a drill I use to start your basketball practice. You will be able to see ball handling improvement in all of your players, including the "bigs".
These basketball coaching drills focus on proper passing techniques and catching the ball properly so ball adjustment doesn't have to be made. We drill in the early season on catching the ball with the hands in what I call triple threat position.
These basketball ball handling drills are for offense and defense. Offensively they work on ball handling, passing, and scoring in highly intense, pressure situation. Defensively they work on-ball defense, trapping, and double teaming.
Of all the basketball youth drills I use, this is one a colleague introduced to me and I love it. As you know, ten year old boys games are won with lay-ups and rebounds.
I often use these basketball dribbling drills to work with my children to focus on fitness and bi-lateral movement.
I call this drill "Don't Lose". The boys love playing Knockout, one of the more popular basketball rebounding drills, but I noticed that if the rebound went long and they knew the guy following them was going to make his shot that they would quit.
Here is an out of bounds play we've began running and we score almost every time, but you must have a great outside shooter. If you're looking for good basketball offensive plays, give this one a try.
